Fri 31st July World Championships - Open & Junior Indi Qualifiers Poole

Astley & Tyldesley had several riders competing in the first week of the World Championships, at the South West.

In the Junior Individual Quarter Final at Poole on Friday, Reece Pollitt enjoyed three wins and two second places, to score an excellent 18 points, finishing in second place behind new A&T signing Dawid Bas, to qualify for next weekend's semi-final, in the Midlands. Ciaran Collins was also in action, scoring 9 points and then missing out on semi-final qualification by a single point, from the Repechage event at Exeter.  Ciaran was called up for the Ireland team which raced in the World Pairs Final, at Exeter on Saturday.

A&T's Polish riders enjoyed a successful week, racing for their native country. Przemek Binkowski was a member of the Poland teams which won the World Pairs Final at Exeter on Saturday and the World Team Cup Final at Poole on Sunday. New A&T signing Dawid Bas was a member of the Poland team which finished 2nd in the World Junior Pairs Final at Exeter on Saturday and which won the World Junior Team Cup Final at Poole on Sunday. Both riders have qualified for the World Senior & Junior Individual Semi-Finals respectively next weekend, but Tomasz Wlodarczyk was eliminated from his Quarter Final match.
