Astley & Tyldesley narrowly missed out on automatic qualification for Monday's European Club Championship Semi-Finals. Team Green finished in 3rd place in Match H on Sunday, an agonising two points behind Poole. Birmingham took the match win, with 52 points, to book a semi-final place. Poole finished on 45, with A&T on 43, ahead of Kesgrave on 31 and Birmingham 'B' on 24.Pawel Idziorek top scored for A&T, dropping his only point to Poole's Fraser Garnett in heat 16. Astley & Tyldesley have qualified for the semi-finals of the European Club Championships! Team Green saw off a spirited challenge from two East Anglian teams, to win the second Repechage match on Sunday evening at East Park, Wolverhampton. Norfolk outfit Hethersett pushed A&T in the first half, before fading, whilst Suffolk side Kesgrave made a late charge, for whom Lewis Brinkhoff raced unbeaten, but A&T held on to win the match by a comfortable six points margin. A very solid consistent team performance from A&T saw them take first or second place in every one of the sixteen races they contested.
