Congratulations to Astley & Tyldesley's two English World Cup winners - Steve Harris and Emily Burgess! Both were important members of the England teams which won the Veterans and Women's Finals respectively, at Torun on Sunday afternoon. Steve was England's second top scorer, with 14 points, as they narrowly defeated Australia and Poland. The Veterans Cup Final result was: England 58 Australia 54 Poland 53 Wales 24. Emily was the only unbeaten rider in the Women's match, scoring 16 plus 4 bonus, as England easily beat Poland 91-57, as the rain came down. In the Senior World Cup Final, Remi Burchardt scored 15 points for the victorious Poland team. Former A&T rider Rafal Dulinski scored 3 from one ride. The Senior Cup Final result was: Poland 67 England 49 Australia 42 Wales 38. Przemek Binkowski was joint team manager for Poland, whilst Mike Hack was the referee. |
