Wed 5th June Manchester League GP Round 3 Bury

Round Three of the Manchester League saw Jake Read take an important advantage as the competition reached it's halfway stage at Bury's Goshen Raceway last night.

For the third time In 2019 Read went through the senior match unbeaten for a 16 point maximum score, making it 12 races and 12 wins. With the draw having kept Read and Reece Pollitt (A and T) apart it was expected that Pollitt would also get a maximum score. Steve Harris (A and T) and Louis Wright (Stockport) re wrote the script with each gaining a win over Pollitt, the A and T rider is now three points behind Read.

Stockport took the team win, the three points putting them one ahead of A and T in the Division One title chase,

Scorers - Jake Read (Stockport) 16, Reece Pollitt (A and T) 14, Steve Harris (A and T) 13, Ben Higham (Stockport) 11, Louis Wright (Stockport) 8, Eryk Motala (Bury) 7.

Team scores - Stockport 35, A and T 27, Bury 7.

Current leader board - Jake Read 48, Reece Pollitt 45, Ben Higham 37.

A and T took a clean sweep of the Division Two categories, winning the match 73 - 40 over Bury Comets, Stockport not having any junior racers in competition.

Aiden Green won all four of his races for a 16 point maximum score in the under 10's. Sam Dunphy (Bury) and Steven Warn (A and T) finished with 14 points each.

In the under 13's the series leader (Tom Morrissey - A and T) lost for the first time this season, Charlie Burgess (A and T) inflicting that first defeat.

Emily Burgess (A and T) again dominated the Women's event, scoring her third successive 16 point maximum.

Scorers - Emily Burgess (A and T) 16, Jessica Hindley (A and T) 10, Chloe Warn (A and T) 10.
