Sun 7th April Stockport v Astley & Tyldesley Stockport

Astley & Tyldesley won all three North & Scotland League matches at Stockport this afternoon, to maintain their unbeaten starts to the season.

In a thrilling Division 1 match, Stockport pushed A&T all the way, to a last heat decider. Team Green hung on for a last heat 5-5 and a 91-89 win, to preserve their two years unbeaten record, stretching back to a 2 points defeat at Stockport on the opening day of the 2017 season. No more than 4 points separated the two teams, as the lead changed hands several times during the match. Steve Harris and Reece Pollitt impressed for A&T, with Jake Read the best for Stockport.

Stockport: Jake Read 21 (1), Louis Wright 19 (1), Daniel Mason 17 (2), Ben Higham 16 (1), Michael Preston 10 (2), Ewan Ferreira 4, Harry Hulme 2.

A&T opened with a 7-3 heat win to the Emily Burgess/ Mark Grantham pair over Louis Wright/ Harry Hulme in the Division 2 match. Two more 7-3s in the middle of the match put the visitors firmly in control, to run out 66-54 winners. Grantham raced unbeaten for A&T, with the others all scoring well.

A&T: Mark Grantham 10 (2), John White 10 (1), Mick Knowles 10, Matt Snell 10, Emily Burgess 9 (1), Tom Morrissey 7 (2), Lee Phillips 5 (2), Charlie Burgess 5 (1).

Referee - Graham Lush.

A&T ran out big winners in the Division 3 match, 94-22, to extend their unbeaten record. Aiden Green raced unbeaten in the u-10s match, with John White doing the same in the u-13s category.
