Congratulations to Astley & Tyldesley pair of Steve Harris and Emily Burgess, who were both on the Gt Britain winning teams in Saturday's Federation Cup matches at Leszno, Poland. Steve scored 15 points plus 2 bonus, from six races, as GB won the first match of the day, the Veterans Cup. Final score was Gt Britain 79 Poland 69 Australia 60. Emily made her Gt Britain debut in the Women's match that followed. Riding at number 1 for the GB team, she stormed to a maximum score, with 19 points plus 1 bonus, from her five races. As in last week's Women's World Cup match, Emily was the only unbeaten rider. GB easily beat Poland 89-55. Poland hit back to level the Federation Cup wins, with victories in the Junior and Open matches. Junior result: Poland 80 Gt Britain 66. Open result: Poland 101 Gt Britain 95 Australia 69. |
