Congratulations to Astley & Tyldesley's Steve Harris on retaining the British o-50 Individual title at Ipswich on Sunday. Steve has extended his all time British title wins record to an astonishing 18 title wins. Second was Leicester's Norman Venson, with World o-50 Champion Paddy Wenn, of Norwich, 3rd. Steve capped off a great afternoon's racing by taking 2nd place in the British o-40 Individual Final which followed. Leicester's Kevin Burns took the title, with his team mate Mark Whitehead third. There was drama in the British u-16 Girls Final at Kesgrave on Sunday. A&T's World u-16 Girls Champion Emily Burgess lined up in a run-off for the title against Ipswich's Gemma Hill and Exeter's Rosie Tidball. Emily led from the start, but falls by both Emily and Rosie on the 3rd/4th bend let in Gemma to take the title win. Rosie re-mounted to take 2nd place, with Emily third. Reece Pollitt came through qualifying rounds at Kesgrave and Ipswich on Sunday, to qualify for his second successive British Open Individual Final. |
