Sun 8th May Astley & Tyldesley v Sheffield Astley & Tyldesley

Astley & Tyldesley welcomed Sheffield Stars in an eagerly anticipated North & Scotland League fixture at a warm, sunny Gin Pit on Sunday.

The Division 1 match between reigning champions Sheffield and three times champions A&T saw the home team off to a flying start. He recorded the fastest time of the day, 41.25 seconds, in heat 15. Pawel Idziorek and Pierce Bacon turned in top performances for A&T, as all top six riders won races. Niall Morton was Sheffield's top rider on the day, with good back up from Kyle Holland. Sheffield captain, Ed Morton, deployed as a tactical reserve, started off with two last places, before recovering strongly in the 2nd half. It was a hard fought, but sporting match between two good teams.
