Astley & Tyldesley contested National Round 3 of the British Youth & Junior League series at Newport on Saturday. There were some excellent performances with three riders qualifying for their respective Grand Prix 'A' Finals, to ensure a top four finish on the day. Frank White scored a 16 points maximum in the u-12 qualifiers, but a bad draw in the GP Final saw him finish in 3rd place. In the u-14 qualifiers, Duncan Whalley scored 14 points and came through to take 2nd place in the GP Final. John White also scored 14 points in the u-16 heats, before taking 2nd place in the GP Final. Earlier in the day, in the Little League matches, Levi Edwards won the 10 Grand Prix 'B' Final, to finish in 5th place, whilst Josh Pilkington finished 9th, after winning the GP 'C' Final. |
