The North & Scotland team ran out winners in the opening round of the Women's Battle of Britain series at Hull, on Saturday. A&T's Emily Burgess dropped just one point, as she top scored for the North & Scotland team, with 17 points, plus 2 bonus, from five rides. Women's Battle of Britain Round 1 result: North & Scotland 64 Midlands 58 South East & Eastern 55 South & South Wales 50. In the Women's Elite Grand Prix round that followed, Emily raced to a maximum 16 points in the qualifying round, to progress to the Grand Prix 'A' Final. In the final, defending champion Emily finished third, behind Exeter's Lauren Hookway and Poole's Sandra Tamborska. |
