Astley & Tyldesley made it a double win in Scotland this afternoon. A&T's first match was against Fife, in a North & Scotland League Division 1 match at their Dunfermline track. After a shared first race, A&T took a 7-3 heat win from the Terry Norman and Frank White pairing, for a lead which they held for the rest of the match. Although the points were shared in 11 of the 18 races, A&T took the heat wins in the other seven races, to run out comfortable 99-80 winners. For A&T John White was in superb form, unbeaten by an opponent, just dropping one point through a starting infringement penalty.Excellent support came from Duncan Whalley, beaten only twice in six races, and high scores from Norman, Frank White and Steve Harris. Kayden Davidson impressed for Fife, who lost only to John White on three occasions. A&T shuffled the line-up for the following challenge match against Edinburgh, again ridden on the Fife track. Youngsters Josh Pilkington and Oscar Belt really stepped up and both turned in excellent scores, as A&T rode to a convincing 102-78 win. John White again top scored for A&T, losing only to Edinburgh guest, Kayden Davidson. Edinburgh fielded some guests from Fife, as they are re-building with a view to return to Division 1 racing next year.
