Round 1

The 2024 Cycle Speedway season opened with Round 1 of the Northern Fours and Junior League, at Hull, on Sunday. Despite the cold, wet weather, racing was very competitive and enjoyable at the Hessle Raceway.

For the Fours League match, A&T welcomed British Women's Indoor Champion, Emily Burgess, back onto the team. British o-50 Indoor Champion, Steve Harris, top scored for A&T, with 13 points, which included a race win. They were backed up by good contributions from youngsters Oscar Belt and Josh Pilkington. A&T finished in 4th place on the day, as Sheffield took the opening round win.

A&T put in a great performance to take 2nd place in the Junior League match, finishing behind Hull. Alex Lawless top scored in the u-10s category, with Steve Harris joint top scorer in the Division 2 riders event.
