Astley & Tyldesley riders enjoyed much success in this afternoon's Northern Individual Cycle Speedway Championships at Stockport. John White made it a magnificent double by winning both the Open and the u-19 Finals, with brother Frank White winning the u-13 Final. A&T had riders placed on the podium in six of the seven Finals, to come away with ten trophies in total. In the u-10 Final, Elijah Rechembei finished 2nd, behind Sheffield's Lincoln Ackroyd, with James Jackson 3rd. Frank White scored a maximum 16 points to win the u-13 Final, ahead of Hull's Harry Gibson, with Josh Pilkington in 3rd place. Frank also took 2nd place in the u-16 Final, behind Hull's Noah Lyon, with Duncan Whalley 3rd. John White won the u-19 Final, with a 16 points maximum, ahead of Hull's Noah Lyon, with Frank White 3rd. Steve Harris lost a run-off in the Veterans Final, to finish in 3rd place behind Stockport's Terry Norman and Sheffield's Dariusz Pilas. In the Open Final, John White reeled off four impressive race wins, before securing the third place he needed from his last ride to clinch the title, with 18 points. 2nd place was Sheffield's Pawel Idziorek, with Hull's Jack Lister winning a run-off for 3rd place. The only event without an A&T presence was the Women's Final, which was won by Sheffield's Laura Watson.
