A&T concluded the Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride League series, with the staging of Round 6 at Gin Pit on Tuesday evening. Astley Hurricanes took the team win on the night, beating Tyldesley Typhoons by eight points. This proved crucial, as the Hurricanes drew level on match points with the Typhoons, but beat them on race points, to take the title. Gin Pit Storm finished 3rd on the night and 3rd in the final table, albeit just three match points behind the other two teams. Oscar Belt took the individual win on the night, but Riley Candy's second place was sufficient to secure the overall individual series win. Elijah Rechembei and Charlotte Brighouse finished second and third, respectively, in the final individual standings. The series once again served its purpose in providing competitive racing in developing youngsters, as well as developing new volunteers. In total, 17 riders participated in the series, including three new ones in the final round, when Finlay Brent enjoyed a race win in his first ever match. |
