Excellent news is that the club has secured a grant for £1303 from the Wigan MBC Community Chest. The grant will fund the purchase of equipment for next year's World Championships at Astley. Equipment to consist of: flags, officials' dress, public address & music system, gas barbeque, 3 gazebos, timber to build additional seating. The grant application was made by Mike Hack.

We have taken delivery of the new announcer's and officials' cabin. The new 21' x 8' cabin is located next to the starting gate, in place of the old announcer's hut which has now been demolished. The purchase and delivery of the cabin was arranged by Gary Nuttall and Bill Phillips, funded from the Awards for All grant.

Mike Hack and Gary Nuttall have both completed the British Cycling Level 2 Club Coach course and the Emergency First Aid course. All that remains now is for them to complete the 13 weeks practical coaching to become fully fledged qualified British Cycling coaches. The costs were funded by the Awards for All grant.

Delivery of the 10 new bikes are expected from Poland during the next fortnight, to complete the purchase of items from the Awards for All grant. Mike Hack met recently with the supplier in Torun to finalise arrangements, along with Przemek Binkowski and his father, Zbiginiew, the Torun club manager.
