We received a cheque for £25 from former cycle
speedway rider and rock n roller Rory Blackwell, as a donation to buy a trophy for the
winner of a junior event. Rory's life story makes interesting reading - he holds
12 records listed in the Guinness Book of Records, has raised over
£600,000 for children's charities, raced for England at cycle speedway in the
1950s, has been a drummer with the Beach Boys, John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band
and was a member of Lord Rockingham's XI.
