Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare / CTA Direct had several riders competing in the British Indoor Individual Championships at Broughton Recreation Centre, Salford over the weekend. The Championships were sponsored by Pedalsport.

Defending Senior Champion Chris Finnigan put in a great performance, and was joint leader after his first three races. But disaster struck as he came down at the first turn of his fourth ride and the subsequent exclusion ended his hopes of retaining the title. In his other races, Chris recorded two wins and two seconds to finish with a total of 14 points and 5th place overall. Bury's Ben Scranage scored 18 points to take the title. Frank Finnigan scored 13 points in his semi-final, missing qualification by 1 point.
