British Indoor Cycle Speedway Championships 2010

Once again, the annual British Indoor Cycle Speedway Championships come to Salford, hosted by the Northern Alliance League, on behalf of British Cycling. This year the Championships are staged for the first time at Fit City Eccles, Barton Lane, Eccles. M30 0DD. The Championships will take place over this forthcoming weekend, 4th and 5th December, featuring individual and team championships, as Salford welcomes Britain's best cycle speedway racers.

Saturday's racing consists of the U-13, U-16 and U-19 Individual Championships, along with the Junior Team Championship. Racing starts at 8 am and will run through until around 9 pm. A & T's Adam Phillips will be competing in both the U-13 and U-19 Individual Championships.

Sunday's racing consists of the Veterans, Womens and Senior Individual Championships, along with the Senior Team Championship. Racing starts at 9 am and will run through until around 8 pm. The main events of the weekend, the Senior Individual Final and the Senior Team Final are scheduled to start at 5.15 pm and 6.30 pm respectively.

Local Bury rider Ben Scranage won the British Individual title last year and he will be defending his title on Sunday, with three former champions eager to regain the title, in Lee Aris, Mark Boaler and Steve Harris. Oxford's Horspath club will defend the British Team title that they won last year.

Come and witness the exciting spectacle of riders hurtling around a tight indoor circuit, displaying incredible bike handling skills as they corner at gravity defying angles. The racing will be fast and furious, with plenty of thrills, spills and passing. Indoor cycle speedway is like no other form of cycle racing, so don't miss it.
