Vic Haines Coaching Masterclass

Astley & Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club welcomed legendary cyclist Vic Haines to Gin Pit on Sunday. Vic made the long trip from his Suffolk home early on Sunday morning and was impressed with the facilities on his first visit to Gin Pit. Jewson Masters Team professional Vic brought with him five of his racing and training bikes, with a collective value of £30,000.

On a cool dry day, there was a good turn out of 25 Astley & Tyldesley Club riders attended Vic's Coaching Masterclass, which was split into two x two hours sessions. 15 juniors attended the morning session, with 10 seniors participating in the afternoon session.

Vic took the riders through various key drills on the track, as well as giving talks on preparation, motivation, mindset and tactics. The sessions were well received by all riders, parents and club officials, who are looking to put Vic's advice into practice during the forthcoming season.
