Astley & Tyldesley are delighted to announce that the club has secured
£4,000 funding during the past week!
Club Development Officer Mike Hack has secured £1,000 from Forever
Manchester's Bardsley Fund, for the purchase of two full size racing bikes.
Another £2,000 was received from Wigan Council's Brighter Borough Fund, via
the Tyldesley Ward Councillors, to purchase four full size racing bikes. A
further £1,000 has been provided from the Brighter Borough Fund, via the
Astley Mosley Common Ward Councillors, to purchase three sets of racing
jerseys and equipment, for the expanded Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Racing
League.
This is a big boost to the Astley & Tyldesley club and the local community.
It will ensure that plans to stage a local racing league at Gin Pit will
come to fruition next year. This will enable local residents to race
competitively, without having to leave the Wigan Borough.
The club's considerable thanks go to Forever Manchester, Wigan Council and
to the local Councillors, notably Steve Hellier and Paula Wakefield.
