Sun 10th April Sheffield v Astley & Tyldesley Sheffield

Astley & Tyldesley were in Northern League action at Sheffield on Sunday. In the Division 1 match, great team riding from Damian Zareba helped A&T to open up a 6 points lead after just four heats. However, some costly mistakes saw A&T surrender the lead as Sheffield replied with two 7-3s as they moved into a 4 points lead at the interval. The home team then adopted tactics to hang onto this lead and they achieved that, running out 92-88 winners. Reece Pollitt won all his five races for A&T, with Damian Zareba combining well with his team mates for three heat wins, losing only to Kyle Holland in heat 13. Paul Graham battled hard for his points, but the lack of a recognised third heat leader proved decisive against a very solid scoring Sheffield team.
