Wed 10th Aug Manchester Under 10/16 Individuals Stockport

Stockport hosted the first of this year's Manchester League Finals nights, on Wednesday.
Rain fell throughout the evening, with nine riders contesting each of the two finals, held over 12 heats.

Astley & Tyldesley's John White became the first rider to retain the u-10s title, by winning all four races, to record a 16 points maximum. His A&T team mate Jack Murray took runners-up slot, losing only to John in heat 3. Bury's Kaci Neath secured third place after holding off a strong challenge from team mate Duncan Whalley in heat 10. John White was also presented with a trophy for winning the u-10 Grand Prix series.

Manchester League u-10 Individual Final result:

John White (A&T) 16, Jack Murray (A&T) 15, Kaci Neath (Bury) 14, Duncan Whalley (Bury) 13, Frank White (A&T) 12, Lusy Grantham (A&T) 10, Jarvis Yates (Stockport) 9, Aiden Green (A&T) 9, Hermoine Whalley (Bury) 8.

Referee - Ben Higham (Stockport).

Four riders dominated the u-16 championship, with two run-offs required to determine the eventual places. The draws proved important, with the inside rider winning each time the top four met each other.

Stockport's Devon Campbell beat Bury's Kaysar Mohammedi in heat 1, but lost to team mate Michael Preston in heat 4. A&T's Ciaran Collins started off with two wins, before losing to Campbell in heat 7. Preston won his first three races, but trailed in behind Mohammedi and Collins in heat 11. In the run-off for 3rd place, Collins won the toss and held off Preston to take the 3rd place trophy. Campbell won the toss in the 1st place run-off and held off the challenges of Mohammedi to take the title. Devon also received a trophy for winning the u-16 Grand Prix series.
