After a very successful Saturday in Glasgow, A&T travelled across to Edinburgh for Sunday's matches. In the Division 1 match, the first two heats were shared, before Edinburgh took the lead with a 6-4 heat win. League leaders Edinburgh were never headed after that and ran out 85-62 winners, with skipper Mikey Hewitson racing unbeaten. Nevertheless, a young A&T side battled hard and can be proud of their efforts against a strong team, with Reece Pollitt and Luke Jamson both winning races. Northern League Division 1 match result: Edinburgh 85 Astley & Tyldesley 62 Edinburgh: Mikey Hewitson 20, Jake Slight 16, Craig Newsome 15 (1), Neil McPherson 11 (1), Marcin Czarkowski 11, Kamil Greszla 6, Neil Swanson 6. A&T: Luke Jamson 14 (2), Reece Pollitt 12 (2), Ciaran Collins 11 (1), Mark Grantham 10 (1), Matt Snell 9, Emily Burgess 4, Max Evans 2 (1). Referee - Gavin Kennedy. A&T kept up their title challenge by winning the Division 2 match, 82-68. Ciaran Collins and Max Evans again both raced unbeaten, with Matt Snell again losing only once to a home rider. Northern League Division 2 match result: Edinburgh 68 Astley & Tyldesley 82 Edinburgh: Gavin Kennedy 15, Ewan Kennedy 14 (1), Lewis Foxley 12 (1), Dodi Mitchell 11 (1), Skye Mitchell 8, Ciaran Leslie 4 (1), James Foxley 4. A&T: Max Evans 19 (1), Ciaran Collins 18 (2), Matt Snell 18, Emily Burgess 11, Mark Grantham 11, Lucy Grantham 5. Referee - Ewan Tulloch. Defending champions A&T pulled off a terrific performance to take a narrow 62-58 victory, in the Division 3 match. The five A&T riders worked overtime to beat a seven rider Edinburgh team. Edinburgh started the weekend as league leaders, but A&T's two wins saw them jump from 3rd to 1st place in the league table.
