Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 3 of the Northern Fours & Junior League series at Gin Pit on Sunday. 58 riders competed, with slick organisation resulting in 76 races completed in well under four hours. In the Fours League, the joint leaders Bury Comets and Stockport were level on 27 apiece at the half way stage, with A&T in 3rd place. Two second half race exclusions for Bury's James Elston proved costly, as Stockport took a 4 points win over Bury Comets, with A&T a further 4 points adrift in 3rd place. Reece Pollitt raced to a fine 16 points maximum score for A&T, clocking the fastest time of the day, 41.55 secs in heat 16, with good support from youngsters Max Evans and Ciaran Collins. Bury had won the opening two rounds of the Junior League, but they were pushed hard all the way by Astley & Tyldesley this time, before taking a narrow victory. A&T's John White raced unbeaten in the u-10s match, as did his team mates Matt Snell in the u-13s match and Reece Pollitt in the u-19s category. A&T's regular youngsters turned in impressive performances, with four youngsters making their debuts in the u-10s event - Tom Beeley, Owen Hutchinson, Ellis Hutchinson and Sabrina Evans.
