Sun 15th May Northern Grand Prix 2 Under 10/13/16s and Northern Fours 2 Heckmondwike

Astley & Tyldesley's injury woes piled up as they raced at Heckmondwike in the 2nd Round of the Northern Fours & Junior League series on Sunday. With Max Evans the latest rider to be injured, in the preceding Junior match, A&T lined up with a very young team for the Senior Fours League match. Not surprisingly, A&T finished 6th in the six teams match. Ciaran Collins top scored for A&T with an impressive performance.

A&T's youngsters took 2nd place in the Junior League match, for the second successive round. After winning his opening race, Max Evans suffered a nasty gash to his knee when crashing in his 2nd ride and he was taken to hospital for treatment. John White and Ciaran Collins both raced unbeaten in the u-10 and u-16 matches respectively. There were impressive performances from Charlie Burgess and Emily Burgess.
