Sat 17th Sept | British Youth & Junior League National Round 4 | Gt. Blakenham | |
Astley & Tyldesley have two more British Champions! At Gt. Blakenham, Suffolk on Saturday, John White won the British Youth & Junior League u-10 series and Max Evans won the British Youth & Junior League u-14 series. John took to the track as the series leader. He won all his four qualifying races, before taking first place in the Grand Prix 'A' Final, to clinch the British u-10 Grand Prix title. It was an identical situation for Max, as he extended his series lead, by winning his four qualifying races and then taking victory in the Grand Prix 'A' Final, to win the u-14 title. Both riders won three of this year's four national rounds, oddly, only losing out on their home Astley & Tyldesley track in Round 3. A&T's other four riders all put in great performances on the day. Ciaran Collins showed just what he can do when fit, by taking 3rd place in the u-17 Grand Prix 'A' Final, after scoring 13 points in the qualifiers. Emily Burgess finished in 8th place in the u-12 event, after scoring 11 points in the qualifiers. Frank White also scored 11 in the qualifiers and took 8th place in the u-8 match, with Aiden Green scoring 8 points and finishing 12th. John and Max's success brings the number up to 17 British title winners at the A&T club, all riders having started with the club as complete beginners and progressing to winning British titles. |
